Job summary

The ONxpress Civils Contractor General Partnership (CJV), a joint venture of FCC Canada Limited and Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc., is hiring for a Project Engineer to support civil and railway construction projects under the GO Expansion program.

You will conduct constructability reviews, plan schedules, manage budgets, coordinate trades, review designs for compliance, and contribute to safety and quality programs.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in Civil Engineering or Civil discipline or Equivalent.
• Experience with codes, standards and construction practices.
• Minimum 4 years in project engineering in construction or EPC.
• Heavy civil or buildings experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Organizational and time-management skills; multitasking.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated technical understanding of industry processes and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed constructability reviews to develop engineering design requirements.
• Plan and implement engineering and construction program with milestones and manpower.
• Maintain project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments.
• Identify milestones and adjust schedules.
• Coordinate manpower with trades and subcontractors.
• Prepare and deliver design documents, as-built drawings, turnover docs.
• Review design for compliance with standards and contracts.
• Provide status reports to customer, team, and management.
• Forecast and track change orders and scope changes.
• Assist and monitor safety programs.
• Develop and write reports and business correspondence.
