Job summary

A leading construction contractor in Ontario is looking for a Senior Estimator to manage estimating for complex infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should have over 8 years of civil estimating experience, particularly in concrete and excavation. Responsibilities include preparing detailed estimates, leading bid submissions, and mentoring junior estimators. Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of estimating experience in civil construction.
• Strong background in self-performed concrete, excavation, and underground utilities.
• Experience preparing full-scope civil estimates independently.
• Knowledge of construction methods, productivity rates, and cost modeling.
• Experience with contract review, bid analysis, change pricing, and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed self-performed estimates for civil construction scopes.
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Develop cost breakdowns for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracted work.
• Lead preparation of bids, proposals, and budgets.
• Participate in bid strategy reviews to identify gaps and risks.
• Issue and manage RFQs/RFPs to subcontractors.
• Review subcontractor pricing and terms.
• Mentor junior estimators on take-offs and pricing.
