Job summary

WSP in Edmonton seeks a Senior Civil Designer for Land Development to shape communities across Alberta. The role requires 8–10 years of Alberta experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 8-10 years of land development design experience in Alberta and familiarity with municipal processes.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; familiarity with ProjectWise, ACC, Procore, or SharePoint is assets.
• Strong analytical and technical skills; Excel for design calculations.
• Experience in field or construction environments is an asset.
• Creative problem solver with exceptional attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliably insured vehicle.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with engineers and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine engineering and construction drawings for land development projects.
• Create plans, profiles, and detailed 3D civil models using Civil 3D.
• Interpret and integrate municipal and regulatory standards into design solutions.
• Prepare supporting technical documents, reports, spreadsheets, and presentation-ready tables.
• Produce, modify and quality check design drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Support construction activities through site reviews and coordination with contractors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Contribute to environmentally responsible project planning through thoughtful design approaches.
