You will lead transformational residential, industrial, and mixed‑use projects as well as municipal infrastructure projects, ensuring they are resilient, sustainable, and built for long‑term success.

Your Impact
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of land development and municipal engineering projects, from concept design through construction and municipal inspection.
  • Guide technical design for stormwater management, grading, drainage, water and sanitary servicing, roadway and access design, and utility coordination.
  • Oversee and review engineering drawings, reports, models, and submissions to ensure alignment with municipal and provincial standards.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated, efficient project execution.
  • Prepare and contribute to detailed engineering deliverables including technical reports, cost estimates, and design documentation.
  • Champion sustainable design by integrating Low Impact Development (LID), green stormwater systems, and climate‑resilient infrastructure principles.
  • Build trusted relationships with municipalities, developers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring client needs and community outcomes are aligned.
  • Provide construction‑phase leadership including field reviews, shop drawing approvals, RFI responses, technical issue resolution, and certification documentation.
  • Mentor intermediate engineers, technologists, and EITs, contributing to technical growth and project delivery excellence within the team.
  • Engage with clients, municipalities, and regulatory bodies to support project approvals and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Support business development, proposal writing, fee development, and client presentations to expand WSP's presence in land development across Alberta.
Required Skills
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in land development and municipal infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and registration as a P.Eng. in Alberta.
  • Deep understanding of the land development process, municipal standards, permitting processes, servicing strategies, and grading design best practices.

  • Strong technical capabilities with Civil 3D and other design modeling tools.
  • Strong expertise in technical writing, including design reports, cost estimates, and regulatory documentation.
  • Solid understanding of municipal bylaws, development approvals, and regulatory frameworks in Alberta.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support the development of junior team members.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
