Job summary

Atlantic Packaging is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator at our Scarborough location to manage Canadian weekly payroll, process hours from timesheets, and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and company policies.

You will maintain Kronos timecards, handle deductions, reconcile payroll data, set up new hires, and support other payrolls as needed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience administering payroll under Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• 5 years experience in a payroll position.
• Payroll Compliance Professional credential.
• Experience with Ceridian Dayforce.
• Experience with UKG Workforce Time & Attendance or similar.

Responsibilities

• Process Canadian weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and legislation.
• Enter hours from timesheets into Dayforce, including required cost allocations.
• Process payroll transactions for assigned groups and prepare Dayforce files.
• Cross-train and provide backup support for other payrolls as required.
• Audit Kronos timecards, investigate and correct discrepancies.
• Maintain employee deductions, including union dues and group insurance.
• Update payroll tracking spreadsheets and reconcile with payroll registers weekly.
• Prepare requisitions and process payments for payroll deductions.
• Maintain rate review schedules and monitor wage increases.
• Prepare wage increase documentation and distribute for approval.
• Set up new hires in payroll systems and verify required documentation.
• Review rate changes per collective agreements and approvals.
• Process terminations in compliance with employment standards and EI requirements.
• Verify payroll registers against source docs and batch totals.
