Job summary

Octasic is seeking a Buyer, Custom Products in Montreal to coordinate procurement for PCBAs, cables, and other components. You will ensure material availability, manage inventories, and align with production schedules to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.

You will work with suppliers to optimize pricing and lead times, maintain CTB data, and support ECN/ECO changes. Collaboration with Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance is essential to mitigate risks and drive cost

Qualifications

• College diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
• 5–10 years in a similar procurement/supply chain role.
• Bilingual French and English, spoken and written.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Solicit, analyze, and compare supplier quotations to secure the best terms.
• Issue, manage, and follow up on purchase orders.
• Plan and coordinate orders for PCBAs with subcontractors based on production needs.
• Maintain the Clear-to-Build (CTB) report for electronic components.
• Participate in ECN/ECO processes and coordinate changes with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance regarding delivery, quality, and cost.
• Negotiate and manage commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to resolve supply issues.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Support supplier development and strategic supplier management.
