Senior Business Systems Analyst – IT Service Management (ServiceNow)
Location- Downtown Toronto- Hybrid
Duration- 6 months with high possibility of extension
Purpose
The Senior Business Systems Analyst plays a key role in the ITSM Engineering Team within Global Enterprise & Technology Platforms (GTEP). This role focuses on leveraging ServiceNow to optimize IT Service Management (ITSM), Asset Management, and Operations Management. The analyst ensures alignment with enterprise governance policies, regulatory compliance, and business objectives to drive efficiency across the bank.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring they align with organizational goals. Act as a liaison between business teams and technical teams, translating business needs into functional specifications.
- Lead requirements-gathering sessions and facilitate the creation of user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
Agile & Lean Methodologies
- Work within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) to prioritize backlogs, manage sprint planning, and ensure timely solution delivery.
- Support the evolution of DevOps practices, ensuring streamlined CI/CD pipeline deployments.
ServiceNow & ITSM Solutions
- Provide technical expertise on ServiceNow modules, focusing on ITSM, Asset Management, and Operations Management. Oversee system integration, process automation, and security compliance efforts.
- Assist in creating system documentation, including process flows, use cases, and technical specifications.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure business operations align with the policies, AML/ATF regulations, and compliance standards.
- Conduct system testing and validation to verify solution effectiveness.
- Provide post-implementation support and troubleshooting for key IT projects.
Must Have Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, or similar role supporting Agile/Lean development environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on technical experience with ServiceNow, including ITSM, Asset Management, and Operations Management.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and Lean principles.
- ITIL Foundation certification and knowledge of IT Service Management best practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Experience managing large and complex IT projects, with a solid background in system integration.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.
- Senior Business Analysis Certification (CBA | IIBA) is a plus.
