Senior Business Manager, Office of the President & CEO, Canada

Join us as a Senior Business Manager to leverage your expertise and experience.

About The Role

Reporting directly to the President and CEO of AIG Canada, the Senior Business Manager is a key leadership team member responsible for influencing profitable business growth through strategic implementation and evaluation. This role requires a strong understanding of business strategy, market drivers, and the competitive landscape. The Senior Business Manager will help measure performance, support portfolio management, and execute strategies using insights from data analysis of AIG exposure, claims, operations, and financial data, as well as third-party sources, to achieve growth and profitability goals through underwriting excellence and market leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, analytical, project management, and influencing skills, along with strong business acumen, decision-making abilities, and a talent for using data, analytics, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement. This person will act as a liaison on behalf of the President & CEO, Canada, fostering collaboration and integration across Canada and North America in pursuit of One AIG objectives.

The role will have a Business Analyst as a direct report.

How You Will Create An Impact
  1. Business and strategic alignment
  • Engage with business and functional leaders across Canada to articulate a shared vision and support action plans for market-leading performance.
  • Take a portfolio view to capture insights, assess risks, and identify opportunities within a dynamic environment, ensuring holistic value delivery.
  • Facilitate alignment across departments to promote the One AIG vision.
  • Support communication and strategic alignment within the Canadian Business.
  • Enhance portfolio management tools and application for optimal distribution and capital allocation.
  • Monitor external market trends and results.
  • Assist the President & CEO, Canada, in preparing and delivering external presentations.
  • Participate in Canada ELT and SLT meetings, leading Canada UW meetings.
  • Planning and execution
    • Assist in tracking strategic initiatives, communicating, resource allocation, execution, and measuring outcomes.
    • Coordinate planning with Finance and LOB strategy owners, defining KPIs and milestones.
    • Participate in Business Review processes, providing guidance and insights.
    • Ensure coordination and execution of Canadian Strategic Initiatives and CEO Priorities.
  • Data and reporting
    • Oversee regular performance reporting, data analysis, and synthesis, including Monthly Reporting to NA Leadership.
    • Collaborate with the Global Data Office to ensure data accessibility and actionability.
    • Promote continuous improvement in data quality and relevance.
    What You’ll Need To Succeed
    • 10+ years of experience in commercial insurance, with expertise in Canadian market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition, and distribution.
    • Proven influence skills, including communication of vision, facilitation, and change management.
    • Strong financial and business acumen, client-centric approach, ownership mentality, and focus on growth & profitability.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and executive credibility.
    • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
    • Experience in stakeholder management within a large, global, matrixed environment.
    • Execution-oriented with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple initiatives.
    • Data fluency and reporting skills to tell a business story and make data-driven recommendations.
