Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $75, 000- $110, 000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

About The Role

We're looking for a dynamic and strategic Senior Business Development Specialist to join our team and play a key role supporting regional business development team, driving growth across our regional offices. You’ll be a trusted advisor and catalyst for innovation—equipping our business development teams with the tools, training, and strategies needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

What You’ll Do

As a senior member of the team, you’ll work cross-functionally to strengthen our national BD framework and enable long-term success. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Collaboration – Build strong relationships with executive leaders and regional teams, acting as a trusted liaison to align local actions with national goals.
  • Sales Enablement – Lead the design and rollout of sales playbooks, processes, and tools that enhance sales effectiveness, increase broker engagement, and support profitable growth.
  • Performance Insights – Develop and manage dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools to monitor and elevate regional and broker performance.
  • Enterprise Impact – Bring your business development expertise to large-scale corporate initiatives and strategic projects, helping to shape the future of the organization.

Qualifications

  • A passion for strategic growth and relationship building
  • Proven experience in business development within the insurance or financial services sector
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience in commercial underwriting, leading sales enablement or performance improvement initiatives, Power BI or Salesforce is a preferred
