Expected Compensation : The expected hiring range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000, with a 35-hour work week. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience, while considering internal equity.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating current business processes relative to Westland’s future goals and objectives. This includes capturing overall business needs through dialogue with key business stakeholders and working with the Manager of Project Office to ensure high-level alignment of these requirements with our strategic direction and other active initiatives. In addition, you will clearly articulate and document detailed business requirements that will be used by internal / external technical developers and configurators to implement valuable solutions to the business. You will test the solutions to ensure viability and work iteratively with developers as required.

Why We’ll Love You

• Minimum of 7 years of business analysis experience. Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a strong asset
• You possess a bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration or a related field
• Expert with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and the Microsoft Office Suite
• You have a broad understanding of the IT domain experience, strong technical skills, business intelligence, and an ability to fully understand the needs of the user
• Experience working in agile and DevOps-driven environments, with a solid understanding of software development lifecycles, continuous integration, and deployment practices
• You have demonstrated analytical skills, including broad knowledge / use of business analysis tools such as business process mapping, use cases and various diagrams
• Strong oral and written communication skills and are a problem solver
• You are able to quickly absorb and understand new and complex information

Once Here, You'll

• Serve as an intermediary between various stakeholders in our technology teams, support teams, and business units in a collaborative way to capture detailed business requirements and identify possible solutions to address the organization’s needs
• Support and liaise with the training team in identifying system / process changes, keep them informed as changes and / or new capabilities are introduced to the system; advise how current processes will be modified / affected; aid in the validation of training materials
• Conduct and document elicitation activities to collect information from various stakeholders in order to draw out the needs of the business; includes workshops, surveys, shadowing and other elicitation techniques
• Generate high-level business requirements documents in order to trace, prioritize / assess and gain sign off; generates detailed system / software requirements documents for use in developing solutions; delivers other quality project artifacts that are in line with the business needs
• Participate in assessing the performance of pilot releases; provides potential solutions, identifies limitations, and makes recommendations for improvements
