The Senior Building Operator at ATCO Frontec is responsible for performing hands-on inspections, as well as predictive and corrective maintenance within high-rise facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a Class 4 Power Engineering certification or higher, with additional trade tickets highly valued. The role requires working on shifts and a rotational schedule, providing after-hours coverage as needed. Uniform, tools, PPE, and work phone are provided by the company.

Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting HVAC systems including humidifiers, chillers, steam boilers, RO systems, and water softeners.
• Maintaining air conditioning systems and water chemistry.
• Utilizing BMS remote access to change set points.
• Fixing faucets and minor leaks, addressing clogged plumbing fixtures and drains.
• Changing light bulbs, batteries, switches, and performing minor electrical repairs.
• Ensuring all building equipment is operational and certifications are up to date.
• Conducting detailed inspections for scheduled and periodic maintenance.
• Working on shifts and providing after-hours coverage as needed.

Qualifications:

• Class 4 Power Engineering certification (ABSA Certified or higher).
• Additional trade tickets (Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC) are assets.
• Ability to obtain Government Security Clearance.
• Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol, Fit-to-Work tests, and background checks.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Minimum 5 years troubleshooting experience with HVAC and water systems.
• Mechanically inclined with handyman skills.
• Familiarity with Federal and Alberta Building Codes.
• Independent, resourceful, and customer-oriented with good communication skills.
