Senior Actuarial Bilingual Analyst - Broking and Financial Management

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Health Solutions business group within Aon.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Montreal office

What the day will look like
  • Help prepare or review:
    • Analysis and negotiation of annual renewals
    • Analysis and cost projections following carrier marketings
    • Experience monitoring, including analysis of claim costs, trends and client relevant KPIs
    • Client ready material
    • Client communication material following renewals, marketings, new plan implementations, redesigns or for union meeting purposes
  • Support ad-hoc financial requests, working with carriers and other business divisions to support client facing colleagues
  • Coordinate projects with other team members, other business divisions and carriers
  • Increase efficiency by contributing to the improvement of standardized processes
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues, other business divisions and client teams
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the group benefits industry, systems, products, trends and emerging technology, to support a thorough understanding of how this relates to increasing value to clients
  • Participate in team projects and activities which drive innovation, improve client value and business result
How this opportunity is different

As a Senior Bilingual Analyst in our Broking and Financial Management team, you will be supporting client teams in the servicing of clients with respect to the financial management of their benefit programs. Working with a team of analysts and senior team leaders you will be involved with a variety of client deliverables including but not limited to annual renewals, carrier marketings, experience reporting and analysis, budget preparation, review of financial documents, union negotiations, pricing and plan redesigns.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • 3 + years of direct group benefits experience in consulting or underwriting environment is required;
  • Having and maintaining a valid group insurance license is an asset.
  • French / English bilingualism is required due to the frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for our clients;
  • Proven organization skills and the ability to effectively coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services;
  • Strong technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
  • Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;
  • Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
  • University or College graduate in Financial Services, Mathematics, Actuarial science, or related field, or equivalent years of industry experience
  • Completed Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) would be an asset
