Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Engineer (Acting Chief Engineer) to lead the Engineering Department for a major highway network in Canada. The role combines senior technical leadership with long-term asset planning, capital program delivery, and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration with APEGNB.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation, infrastructure, or civil engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Strong knowledge of asset management principles, rehabilitation planning, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, technical direction, and oversight to the Engineering Department.
• Lead asset management programs for pavement, bridges, drainage, geotechnical, traffic control, and roadside assets.
• Manage engineering assessments, inspections, and rehabilitation planning for long-term asset performance.
• Develop and implement asset management strategies, lifecycle plans, and capital programs.
• Maintain asset inventories, forecasting models, and performance reporting.
• Lead rehabilitation and capital projects from planning through delivery, including budgeting and procurement.
• Manage consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
