Role

• Work closely with product and development teams to design and implement data models and infrastructure solutions for high-throughput distributed applications.
• Lead projects or initiatives requiring specialized database knowledge.
• Provide technical leadership and support to scrum teams on database development, maintenance, deployment, and releases.
• Implement and maintain security measures across database systems, ensuring compliance.
• Perform runtime impact analysis, including query optimization and performance analysis.
• Contribute to CI / CD pipelines and automate routine tasks using scripting tools.
• Document database engineering processes and procedures.
• Configure, patch, upgrade, and optimize database software and related products.
• Provide guidance and support to customer service and product teams for data-driven decision making.

All About You

• Strong experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL, IBM Db2, and other relational databases.
• Experience with DB change management tools like Flyway and Liquibase.
• Knowledge of Azure Cosmos DB and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jenkins CI / CD, and automation.
• Proficiency in DDL and DML.
• Experience in database security, backup / recovery, architecture, networking, and administration.
• Strong performance tuning skills and ability to resolve database issues.
• Experience with Dynatrace or Splunk.
• Scripting skills in Unix shell, Ruby, and Python.

Security Responsibilities

• Adhere to Mastercard’s security policies.
• Ensure confidentiality and integrity of information.
• Report security violations.
• Complete mandatory security trainings.
