What is your opportunity?

As a Senior Analyst with the Risk Identification & Data Remediation team, you will be accountable for Data Risk Assessment (DRA) to evaluate the effectiveness of data governance, management controls, operational processes, and Data Risks. Your role involves prioritizing risk treatment activities to manage the organization's information management risk profile.

Job Summary

In this role, you will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders, providing data services such as Data Risk Assessment, Data Lineage, Risk and Control details, Data Quality, Metadata management, and Data Completeness. You will work with business partners across the organization including Finance, Group Risk Management, Personal & Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, and Wealth Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Data Risk Assessment processes for all Business Units’ processes and reports.
  2. Proactively analyze data to derive insights and develop compliance strategies.
  3. Perform Data Risk Analysis, evaluate controls, and complete detailed questionnaires to support RBC units.
  4. Track and prioritize DRA activities, utilizing the CDO framework and data governance guidelines.
  5. Create and maintain processes that meet audit and regulatory requirements for identifying Data Risks and Controls.
  6. Curate metadata related to DRA, including Risk Metrics, Data Classification, Risk Types, and Control information.
  7. Engage with stakeholders to gather information on processes, data flows, risks, and controls.
  8. Identify opportunities for service improvements and facilitate their implementation.
  9. Manage work progress and escalate risks as needed.
  10. Build technical and communication skills through continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  11. Support standards and best practices to enhance data quality organization-wide.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years in accounting, risk management, data management, or business analysis.
  • Experience with credit risk data, data quality, and control design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of financial products, reporting, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS239, IFRS 9, CECL).
  • Knowledge of SQL, Archer, Collibra, and IIPM.
