About The Team

The CGF Investment Management (CGFIM) Team is responsible for managing the C$15bn fund, focusing on catalyzing private sector investments in low-carbon projects and technologies across Canada, including sectors like carbon capture, hydrogen, renewable natural gas, clean technology, and critical minerals.

About Your Role

As a Senior Analyst in Montreal, you will work with a motivated team to evaluate investments that support decarbonization and growth of Canadian clean tech companies. Your responsibilities include research, origination, due diligence, analysis, financing, and asset management.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assess investment opportunities, execute transactions, and manage assets
  • Develop relationships within the energy transition industry in Canada
  • Analyze industry trends, conduct research, and interact with experts
  • Monitor industry developments and share insights with the team
  • Build financial models, conduct valuation and sensitivity analyses
  • Lead due diligence activities with third-party advisors
  • Determine expected returns based on risk assessments
  • Benchmark valuation using public data and precedent transactions
  • Assist in ESG factor analysis and impact metrics
  • Prepare investment memorandums and present recommendations
  • Monitor portfolio performance
  • Expand industry networks for better information access

Note: Travel within Canada and internationally may be required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s preferred
  • CPA, MBA, CFA, CBV are assets
  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in finance, analysis, or investment roles
  • Experience in energy, clean tech, infrastructure sectors is a plus
  • Strong financial statement analysis, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Capital IQ, Bloomberg
  • Fluent in English and French or willingness to learn both
