Job summary

CIBC is seeking a hands-on senior engineering leader to guide the AI Engineering team in Toronto. You will design scalable foundations, SDKs, and reusable components while establishing standards for production-ready AI products.

You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and partners to turn prototypes into reliable enterprise solutions and elevate the team’s overall capabilities. You will influence adoption across teams by delivering enterprise AI interfaces, tooling, and guardrails,

Qualifications

• Hands-on senior engineering leader with 5+ years at Staff/Principal/Lead level.
• Experience in system design, API/SDK concepts, testing, CI/CD, observability, and production ops.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable engineering foundations for the AI portfolio, including SDKs, libraries, and reusable components.
• Define standards for code structure, testing, versioning, packaging, documentation, and release management for AI products.
• Create automated testing, evaluation, monitoring, and observability patterns for traditional and probabilistic AI systems.
• Establish CI/CD patterns and repeatable workflows to move experiments to production with speed and reliability.
• Design interfaces and developer experiences to make enterprise AI capabilities easy to adopt across teams.
• Coach engineers and data scientists on best practices and evolving agentic development workflows.
