Job summary

Sun Life Financial in Toronto is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise AI/ML solutions on AWS. You will translate business needs into scalable, secure deployments and mentor teammates in an Agile environment.

This hybrid role offers collaboration with data engineers and security partners, exposure to Bedrock, RAG, and AI governance, plus opportunities to shape innovative platforms and drive measurable value for clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years on AWS.
• Hands-on AI/ML or Generative AI in production using AWS.
• Strong Python, REST APIs, and cloud security basics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate AI/ML/GenAI solutions on AWS.
• Build production apps with Bedrock, including RAG, prompts, agents, and workflows.
• Design secure RAG pipelines covering ingestion, embeddings, indexing, retrieval, governance.
• Implement scalable serverless and containerized services with Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions.
• Ensure security governance, IAM, KMS, encryption, auditing, cost controls.
