Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking an exceptionally skilled AI Scientist & Engineer to bridge advanced data science with scalable enterprise software engineering in a new Assurance Innovation Lab.

You will extract high-value insights from complex data, train large language models, and design production-grade agentic workflows and RAG solutions within enterprise governance frameworks. Hybrid role based in Canada with collaboration across national teams.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Python; strong on ML/AI software development.
• Deep experience with OpenAI API, Anthropic, Hugging Face and related frameworks.
• Proficient in PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib.
• Knowledge of training/fine-tuning open-source LLMs/transformers and knowledge graphs.
• Experience with vector stores and modern data/vector infrastructure.
• DevOps/MLOps tools and production AI workflows.
• Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS Bedrock, or GCP.
• Familiar with RAG architectures and multi-agent AI patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, train, and optimize ML/AI models for Assurance transformation.
• Develop intelligent AI-enabled workflows and automation across the lab.
• Support prototyping and scaling of AI solutions in enterprise environments.
• Evaluate model performance, explainability, and responsible AI considerations.
• Collaborate with AI Architects, ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and engineers.
• Translate business problems into analytical/AI-driven solutions.
• Prototype and scale experiments with cross-functional teams.
