Job summary

Desjardins is seeking a senior internal audit advisor and IT specialist to contribute to internal audit, inspection, assurance, and compliance related to information systems. You will conduct audits with internal partners, produce reports, and follow up on recommendations per the Desjardins Group Monitoring Office methodology.

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.

• Identify risks of technological impacts in system integrations and ensure regulatory alignment.

As a senior internal audit advisor and IT specialist, you contribute to internal audit, inspection, assurance, and compliance activities related to information systems. You conduct audits with our internal partners, produce reports, and follow up on recommendations according to the methodology of the Desjardins Group Monitoring Office in order to provide the organization with assurance regarding the degree of control of its operations, preserve its value, and help create added value. You lead practitioners on development projects and innovative, complex strategic initiatives. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of your specialty area. You make recommendations on the development and execution of projects and initiatives with a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. You use your analytical skills and detailed, comprehensive understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as a specialist advisor and subject matter expert, as well as a resource person for decision‑making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s activities to independently examine governance, control and risk management processes. Present findings to enhance the quality of these activities as needed
• Identify the risks of technological impacts in the integration of solutions for business sectors and support functions, ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines and frameworks, and ensure alignment with industry best practices
• Advise your clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic projects and initiatives under your responsibility

What You Bring To The Table

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
• A minimum of six years of relevant experience
• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
• Experience in executive writing and presenting
• Knowledge of French is required
• Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English‑speaking partners, members and/or clients
• Proficiency in internal audit methodologies and the application of quality assurance standards
• Proficiency in information technology auditing
• Proficiency in one of the following areas: cybersecurity, IT operations, telecommunications, data governance, IT architecture or a related field
• Knowledge of information technology risk management
• Knowledge of information technology auditing standards, frameworks, guidelines and procedures (such as COBIT, NIST and ITIL)
