Job summary

Desjardins Group in Montreal seeks a Senior Advisor, IT Architecture to design IT solutions aligned with architecture targets and shared platforms. You’ll influence stakeholders and ensure compatibility with existing structures while guiding complex initiatives across data, applications, security and infrastructure.

You will coordinate with delivery teams, advise partners on technology solutions, and produce deliverables for strategic programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Six years of relevant experience.
• French language required.
• English for interactions with English-speaking partners.

Responsibilities

• Act as architecture team member and advisor to sectors on application solutions and operations architecture.
• Advise business partners and stakeholders to plan, develop, configure, execute and monitor innovative technology solutions.
• Design IT solutions that meet business needs and oversee policies and standards across data, applications, security and infrastructure.
• Identify and analyze IT solutions that meet the organization’s needs.
• Identify and analyze issues and report major issues.
• Represent the unit before decision‑making bodies and committees and with external partners.

Job description

As a Senior Advisor, IT Architecture, you design IT solutions to meet project business needs using Desjardins Group’s architecture targets and shared platforms. You ensure consistency with the organization’s structure, as well as current and future needs, and ensure that new elements are compatible with existing architecture. You influence business partners and stakeholders on solution architecture development initiatives that are strategic, complex and innovative. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth expertise across several IT fields, including data, applications, security and infrastructure. You make recommendations on IT development and implementation strategies that comply with architecture targets. You produce specialized deliverables as part of projects or initiatives that have a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. You use your analytical skills and comprehensive, in-depth understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with a very large number of stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as a specialist advisor, as a resource person and coach for decision‑making bodies.

More specifically, you will be required to:

• Act as an architecture team member and a specialized advisor to sectors on application solutions and operations architecture and as an integrator for one or more delivery teams for projects, initiatives and development activities that have a significant impact on the organization
• Advise business partners and stakeholders to help them orient, plan, develop, configure, execute and monitor innovative technology solutions for the projects, mandates and strategic initiatives under your responsibility
• Design IT solutions that meet business needs and oversee the development of policies and standards, taking into account data, application, security and infrastructure needs to support your unit’s strategic projects and initiatives
• Identify and analyze potential IT solutions that meet the organization’s needs.
• Identify and analyze issues.
• Report major issues.
• Diagnose issues, establish guidelines and make recommendations to decision‑making bodies and committees
• Represent your unit before decision‑making bodies and committees
• Represent Desjardins when making agreements with external partners and organizations

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• A minimum of six years of relevant experience
• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
• Knowledge of French is required
• Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
