Job summary

Alto in Canada is transforming transportation while advancing a major compensation project. The Senior Advisor, Compensation & Data partners with the Talent & Culture team to design, implement and continuously improve compensation programs, and to optimize HRIS processes.

You will analyze data, run market studies, support annual salary reviews and incentives, and deliver training on compensation. Collaboration with HR partners and leaders in French and English is essential.

Qualifications

  • University degree in HR, IR, business or related field.
  • Minimum of eight years in compensation.
  • Experience with compensation data management.
  • Experience using HR systems, preferably SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate annual salary review cycles and incentive programs.
  • Advise HR Business Partners and leaders on compensation policies.
  • Conduct compensation analyses, job evaluations, and market studies.
  • Design, update and improve compensation programs and guidelines.
  • Develop and deliver training on compensation programs.
  • Support audits related to compensation programs and processes.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports for compensation metrics.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency in compensation analyses.
  • Serve as the primary HRIS resource for compensation processes.
  • Participate in configuration, testing, implementation of compensation systems.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

The role

Reporting to the Director, Global Compensation, the Senior Advisor, Compensation & Data serves as a trusted advisor to the Talent & Culture team, managers, and senior leadership on compensation programs and related processes.

The Senior Advisor, Compensation & Data plays a key role in the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of compensation programs. They also contribute to the optimization of compensation-related processes within the HRIS. In addition, they are responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to support decision-making, internal equity, and external competitiveness.

The responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of annual salary review cycles and incentive compensation programs;
  • Act as a subject matter expert and advisor to HR Business Partners, managers, and leaders on compensation policies, programs, and practices;
  • Conduct compensation analyses, job evaluations, and market studies to support organizational decision-making;
  • Participate in the design, update, and continuous improvement of compensation programs, policies, and guidelines;
  • Develop and deliver information sessions and training on compensation programs;
  • Support internal and external audits related to compensation programs and processes under their responsibility.
HR Data
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reports related to compensation and workforce metrics;
  • Ensure the integrity, quality, and consistency of data used in compensation analyses and processes.
HR Systems and Continuous Improvement
  • Serve as the primary resource for compensation-related processes and modules within the HRIS;
  • Participate in the configuration, testing, implementation, and optimization of compensation-related systems, tools, and processes;
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, simplification, and continuous process improvement.
The Requirements
  • University degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline;
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in compensation;
  • Demonstrated experience in compensation and data management;
  • Experience using and optimizing HR systems, preferably SAP SuccessFactors;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong quantitative analytical skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities;
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and sound judgment;
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
