Qualifications

• 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to month-end close activities.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing, construction, or project-based environment is preferred
• Experience with project accounting, job costing, and inventory is an asset
• CPA designation or CPA-in-Progress is considered an asset but not required
• Strong ERP and Excel skills with the ability to manage large volumes of financial data
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
• An approachable, team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills to work effectively across all areas of the business
• A proactive mindset with a desire to grow into future leadership opportunities within the finance function

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate balance sheet schedules and supporting working papers
• Manage project setup and project cost tracking
• Perform project costing, cost reporting, and variance analysis
• Complete monthly inventory costing and inventory reconciliations
• Reconcile accounts receivable and monitor collections activity
• Perform accounts payable, credit card, and GST reconciliations
• Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate monthly depreciation
• Partner with operations and project teams to support informed business decisions
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased reporting efficiencies
