Bankjoy is a fintech startup seeking a Senior Accountant to own the US and Canadian accounting close, AR/AP, and tax compliance. The role partners with the COO and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate billing and timely financial reporting.

You will manage US multi-state sales tax, Avalara integration, and the external audit process while documenting scalable procedures for a growing organization. Experience with SaaS contracts and cross-border finance is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with full close ownership.
• Hands-on US multi-state sales tax experience including nexus, registrations & filings.
• Experience with Avalara or equivalent tax engine and billing integration.
• US GAAP revenue recognition and multi-element SaaS contracts experience (ASC 606).
• Experience in multi-entity cross-border environments and audits.
• CPA (Canada or US) or equivalent experience.
• SaaS/fintech experience, with banks or credit unions a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end monthly close across US parent, Canadian entity, and subsidiary.
• Prepare and review invoices, monitor AR, and collect receivables.
• Manage AP, vendor coding, and payments with COO approval.
• Oversee US multi-state sales tax compliance and Avalara administration.
• Support external audits with doc workpapers and rollforwards.
• Maintain documentation of processes and cross‑entity mappings.
