Job summary

Assemble, headquartered in Toronto, is seeking an Accountant to own month-end close, oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, including cash application, collections, vendor payments, and payroll for 80+ staff. You will also support external audits and strengthen internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, accuracy, and timeliness, with opportunities to optimize processes and contribute to the company’s growth in a dynamic finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with full-cycle month-end close experience.
• Hands-on AR and AP experience including cash application, collections and vendor invoices.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel; Salesforce experience a plus.
• Experience administering payroll and/or commissions for 50+ employees.
• Experience supporting external audits (PBC documentation and schedules).
• Strong cross-functional communication with non-finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Own key aspects of the month-end close including journals, accruals, reconciliations.
• Review cash applications and AR balances; coordinate with Billing on collections.
• Oversee Accounts Payable; supervise weekly payments and electronic transfers.
• Administer monthly payroll and commission calculations for 80+ employees.
• Process employee expense reports per policy; support audits with schedules.
• Maintain accounting records and respond to inquiries from partners and auditors.
• Monitor event budgets and financial performance with the Event Operations team.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
