Cordelio Power is an independent renewable power producer that develops, owns, and manages renewable power facilities across North America. Cordelio manages an operating portfolio of over 1,400 MW of renewable power assets across Canada and the United States, and a growth pipeline of over 20+ GW of wind, solar and storage projects across the United States. Position Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for accounting and reporting for renewable power projects. Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, this role is best suited for a person with strong organization, time management and technical skills, looking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. Cordelio will consider candidates without industry experience interested in the engaging and rapidly evolving renewable energy industry.

This position is based in Toronto, Canada with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Carries out daily accounting transactions for projects (intercompany transactions, bill payments, bank entries and monthly accruals).
• Prepares and manages variance analysis and communicates results on a monthly basis.
• Prepares quarterly reconciliations and financial statements under US GAAP and supports annual external audit.
• Prepares and coordinates management reporting with various stakeholders across the organization.
• Assists in the preparation of tax returns and other related filings.
• Implements best practice initiatives and ensures that all deadlines are met.
• Participates in the implementation and improvement of accounting software.
• Enforces a strong internal control environment.
• Answers ad-hoc requests for internal and external reporting for stakeholders.
• Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., new processes, procedures, and technology implementations).

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional accounting designation such as CPA designation or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant and progressive accounting experience with a solid understanding of all relevant duties.
• Previous exposure to complex accounting and tax structures, US GAAP/IFRS.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Experience with NetSuite considered an asset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Exceptional technical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction, and time sensitive deadlines.
• Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team, under pressure and with time sensitive deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.

The total compensation range for this position is CAD $95,000 to $105,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined by Cordelio and depends upon experience.
