As the Senior Accountant, you will be a crucial member of our Accounting/Finance team, driving delivery of monthly consolidated Financial Statements in a timely manner, and key contributor in successful implementation of initiatives to support the high growth mode in Moose Knuckles.

Some of What You’ll Do:

• Accounting for the Canadian, European, US, and Asian entities as well as others as the company continues to grow
• Analysis of Profit & Loss variances against prior months, as well as maintenance of balance sheet
• Accounting for wholesale, e-commerce, and retail store operations
• Reconciling data between operating, POS, accounting, and reporting systems
• Costing of inventory - including allocating standard costs and overhead to calculate total landed costs, as well as costing of units sold
• Analyze inventory movement and challenge existing assumptions to help improve costing accuracy
• Month-end close: including completion of specific analyses & reconciliations, update of files, and supporting Accounting Manager in delivery of Consolidated Financial Statements, including creation of supplementary reports and schedules
• Review of monthly sales tax returns including Canadian, US and European filings
• Review of general ledger activity ensuring appropriate allocation of revenues and expenses and variance analysis, including gross margin
• Calculating royalties, commissions, and management fees
• Reconciliation of intercompany transactions
• Key contributor in preparation of year-end and governmental audit files and assistance to auditors
• Maintaining Chart of Accounts and rules
• Miscellaneous analysis, collaboration with numerous other departments and a variety of special projects as required by Management
• Driver in implementation of key internal controls

Some of What You’ll need:

• 3 years of accounting experience or a CPA designation
• Advanced Excel user
• Strong-technological skills
• Proficient in spoken and written English
• Experience with Microsoft D365 and Momentis is an asset
• Experience in accounting for retail operations is a major plus
• Experience inventory and cost accounting is an asset
