Job summary

Pure Canadian Gaming Corp. in Edmonton is seeking an Accountant to support the Finance team. The successful candidate will prepare and review journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with month-end close from a hybrid home/head office environment.

• Perform bank reconciliations and prepare entries for month-end close.

Job description

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager, Accounting, and will be interacting with our Company’s Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, VP of Finance, the Accounting and Finance department and liaising with other internal and external stake-holders. They will be ensuring that internal reporting is effective, timely, and accurate; that corporate assets are safeguarded; and that IFRS and other requirements are appropriately complied with. The Accountant position is a hybrid position, working from home and at our Corporate head office at PURE Casino Edmonton.

Job Duties

• Preparing and reviewing journal entries.
• Preparing bank reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process EFTs and wire payments in CIBC online banking system.
• Prepare accrual entries and reconcile accrued liabilities reconciliation.
• Help in preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end working papers.
• Month end duties:
• Bank reconciliations
• Prepared entries
• Inventory entries
• Other accruals and expense entries as needed
• Balance sheet account reconciliations
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in the restaurant industry would be an asset.
• College or university degree.
• Working towards a professional accounting designation would be an asset.
• Strong working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Self-directed with a high degree of rigor and accountability.
• The ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with a keen willingness to learn.
• Ability to remain focused under pressure, prioritize tasks, and multi-task.
