Job summary

Pure Canadian Gaming Corp. is seeking an Accountant to join the Finance team in a hybrid role based at the Edmonton head office.

The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Accounting and collaborate with the CFO and senior leadership, ensuring timely and accurate internal reporting and safeguarding company assets. Responsibilities include daily F&B sales posting, iGaming entries, weekly deposits, GST filings, and month-end duties with balance sheet reconciliations.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years accounting experience.
• Experience in restaurant industry is an asset.
• College or university degree is required.
• Professional designation progress is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review and post daily F&B sales.
• Prepare iGaming related entries.
• Review and post weekly WCLC and VLT entries.
• Process weekly deposits.
• Prepare working for GST filings.
• Conduct month-end duties and inventory count entries.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations for iGaming.
• Handle other duties as required.

Job description

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager, Accounting, and will be interacting with our Company’s Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, VP of Finance, the Accounting and Finance department and liaising with other internal and external stake-holders. They will be ensuring that internal reporting is effective, timely, and accurate; that corporate assets are safeguarded; and that IFRS and other requirements are appropriately complied with. The Accountant position is a hybrid position, working from home and at our Corporate head office at PURE Casino Edmonton.

Job Duties

• Daily F&B Sales review & posting
• Preparation of iGaming related entries.
• Weekly WCLC & VLT review & posting
• Weekly deposits
• Prepare working for GST filings
• Month end duties:
• Month-end Inventory count entries
• Other accruals and expense entries as needed
• iGaming and other balance sheet account reconciliations
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in the restaurant industry would be an asset.
• College or university degree.
• Working towards a professional accounting designation would be an asset.
• Strong working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Self-directed with a high degree of rigor and accountability.
• The ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with a keen willingness to learn.
• Ability to remain focused under pressure, prioritize tasks, and multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage and meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
