Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Accountant , you will oversee and execute complex accounting functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and insightful financial reporting. Your responsibilities include :

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close :

• Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements following applicable standards.
• Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Audit & Compliance :

• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and timely submission of documentation.
• Maintain internal controls and assist in updating financial policies to support risk management.

Budgeting & Forecasting :

• Collaborate with department leads to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Provide insights into financial trends to support strategic planning.
• Guide and review the work of junior accountants, fostering their development.
• Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals.

Qualifications

To succeed, candidates should demonstrate :

Education & Experience :

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation (or working toward it) is preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or professional services setting.

Technical Skills :

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with financial reporting tools and knowledge of Canadian GAAP or IFRS.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and explain complex financial data clearly.
