Job Description

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will provide accurate and timely reporting for internal and external users of financial information for the Cavendish Group of Companies by maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting system. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a 'can do' attitude, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

1. Preparing and analyzing weekly and monthly financial statements
2. Monitoring internal controls and compliance
3. Aiding in the annual budgeting process
4. Identifying accounting process improvements
5. Developing information solutions for corporate decision-makers and recommending system enhancements

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in accounting with an accounting designation (CPA) or working towards it
• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage multiple activities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong sense of urgency, detail-oriented, with a focus on high-quality work
• Motivated to ensure integrity and improve financial reporting continually
• Familiarity with JD Edwards is an asset
