Job summary

Ben Machine Products in Canada is seeking a Senior Five 5-Axis CNC Machinist. The role sets up and operates 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines, loads programs, and ensures parts meet tolerances. This position offers afternoon shift in Vaughan, with potential for growth in a defence and aerospace-focused shop.

Candidates should have 10+ years' experience, and be familiar with Fanuc or Haas controls, Mastercam, and QA practices. Experience in aerospace and jobbing shops is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in CNC machining
• Fanuc or Haas experience required
• Mastercam experience preferred (optional)
• Certificate of qualification or college degree in CNC machining is an asset
• Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
• Use appropriate tools, fixtures and indicators to set up the machine.
• Load, unload, change and modify programs as required.
• Change and set cutting tools.
• Modify and grind tools as required.
• Adjust feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance.
• Read and interpret blue prints with GD&T.

Positions and Shifts:

Multiple Positions on Afternoon Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:30 pm to 2:00 am and Friday, 3:15 pm to 7:15 pm

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for the rewarding position of Senior Five 5-Axis CNC Machinist at Ben Machine Products will include the following:

• Set-up and operate 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
• Use appropriate tools, fixtures and indicators to set up the machine.
• Load, unload, change and modify programs as required.
• Change and set cutting tools.
• Modify and grind tools as required.
• Adjust feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.
• Operate the machine with all safety precautions in place.
• Deburr and prepare parts for loading and after unloading.
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance.
• Read and interpret blue prints.
• Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience:

We are looking for candidates with the following minimum experience:

• 10+ years' experience required.
• Certificate of qualification, college degree or other training in CNC machining an asset.
• Fanuc or Haas experience a must.
• Familiarity with Mastercam preferred.
• Previous aerospace experience preferred.
• Previous jobbing shop experience preferred.
