Overview

Ben Machine Products is a Canadian leader in defence and aerospace manufacturing. Founded in 1973, we have a strong, vibrant workforce of over 200 people across two facilities. Our services include sophisticated 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling, CNC turning with live tooling, 6, 8 and 9-axis Swiss turning, precision sheet metal fabrication, mechanical, optical and electrical sub-assembly, clean room capabilities and various finishing services. Our customer list is a who's who of the Canadian and American defence industry. Positions and shifts: Afternoon shift – Monday through Thursday, 4:30 pm to 2:00 am and Friday, 3:15 pm to 7:15 pm. Compensation depends on experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
• Use appropriate tools, fixtures and indicators to set up the machine.
• Load, unload, change and modify programs as required.
• Change and set cutting tools. Modify and grind tools as required.
• Adjust feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.
• Operate the machine with all safety precautions in place.
• Deburr and prepare parts for loading and after unloading.
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance.
• Read and interpret blueprints. Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience required.
• Certificate of qualification, college degree or other training in CNC machining an asset.
• Fanuc or Haas experience a must.
• Familiarity with Mastercam preferred.
• Previous aerospace experience preferred.
• Previous jobbing shop experience preferred.

Other Information

Ben Machine is registered under the Controlled Goods Regulations of the Defence Act. It is a condition of employment that each employee signs a confidentiality agreement and completes a satisfactory security review that will include a police check. A failure to pass the security review or sign the confidentiality agreement will result in termination.

Salary: $30 - $40 per hour
