Join to apply for the Self-employed Head Coach role at Scottish Swimming.

Renfrew Baths ASC is inviting applications from experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals for the role of Head Coach to lead and develop the club. RBASC is a family-friendly, competitive swimming club with athletes aged 7 to 18. We support athletes to achieve their potential and compete at all levels, from friendly and development to National levels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the development of athletes and coaches, providing vision, leadership, and expertise for continuous improvement.
2. Create a positive, effective training environment focused on athlete engagement and achievement.
3. Plan the competition calendar, ensuring athlete support and attendance.
4. Attend relevant competitions.
5. Participate in continuing professional development provided by Scottish Swimming.
6. Mentor and guide volunteer coaching staff.
7. Organize coaching meetings as needed.
8. Build positive relationships with athletes, parents, club management, and partners.
9. Attend committee meetings and report on athlete and coach development progress.

Candidate Specification

• Passion for improving swimming quality and athlete experience at RBASC.
• Extensive experience working with athletes of all ages and levels.
• Experience mentoring and developing coaches.
• Ability to create and implement a club development plan.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a coaching team and committee.
• Level 3 (preferred) / Level 2 (essential) coaching qualification.
• Current Child Wellbeing Protection in Sport qualification or willingness to undertake training.
• Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check (PVG).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Commitment to ethics, child protection, fair play, and equal opportunities.
• Sign and adhere to the Coach’s Code of Conduct.
