Job description

Position Summary: Working as a Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to develop retail skills. The role involves providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with self-service transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized area.

What you'll do:

1. Keep the area neat, clean, and organized, free of fixtures, debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
2. Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options when applicable.
3. Promote company sponsor programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, when applicable.
4. Observe customer activities to determine when assistance is needed.
5. Politely explain the reasons for interventions or quality checks during self-service issues, reassuring customers that such checks are normal protocol.
6. Respond to EAS alarms and complete the "Failure to Deactivate" Log.
7. Contact the Customer Service Manager if the self-service area has low cash or technical issues.
8. Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated location after use.

The starting pay rate for this position is $17.55 per hour, with the actual rate determined based on relevant experience.
