Job summary

Sun Life Financial seeks a Student, Security Technology Coordinator for Winter 2027 in Waterloo, Ontario. The role focuses on AI and automation within Physical Security & Crisis Management, coordinating Copilot Studio development, video management rollout planning, and CCURE-9000 upgrade coordination.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Information Security, Business Management, Computer Science, or related field or experience.
• Technical aptitude: Hands-on experience in AI, automation, and process improvement using tools such as Power Automate, Copilot Studio, GenAI and Agentic AI related technologies.
• Problem solving: A self-starter mindset with the ability to think critically, work through ambiguity, and recommend practical solutions.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ask good questions, facilitate discussions, and present recommendations clearly.
• Creativity: Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in finding new ways to improve workflows and team effectiveness.
• Graduation date of April 2027 or later.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/automation roadmap for Physical Security & Crisis Management by identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual effort, and create measurable business value.
• Build automation solutions using Power Automate, Copilot Studio, GenAI and related technologies.
• Engage PSCM teams; research use cases and share ideas via updates or a monthly newsletter.
• Assist with project coordination: tracking action items, documenting meeting minutes, supporting follow-ups, and helping facilitate meetings.
