Job summary

Casino Victoria in Victoria, BC is seeking a Security Shift Manager to oversee security operations on a shift basis and foster a safe, welcoming environment for staff and guests.

The role requires 3+ years in security, supervisory experience, and flexible hours including evenings and weekends. A strong focus on policy adherence, training, investigations, and stakeholder relations is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Post Secondary education or suitable combination of education and experience is an asset.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, overnights and holidays.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in security/surveillance.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.
• Guard Force Training an asset; ASIS Certification an asset.
• Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication.
• Fluency in other languages an asset.
• Valid BST or GSO.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.
• Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License.
• Serving it Right Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the security operation on a shift basis.
• Oversees security operations on a shift basis; may schedule team members in some locations.
• Implements security strategic plans as directed.
• Responds and resolves security issues as escalated; de-briefing on incidents.
• Reviews inspection reports and takes appropriate action.
• Provides support in the administration of access/key control systems.
• Conducts training for security operations; recommends training opportunities and efficiencies.
• May assist with internal investigations by providing documentation and interviews.
