Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking Security Guards for full-time and part-time roles at various sites in Victoria, BC. The position emphasizes strong social perceptiveness and customer service, with shifts including mornings, days, nights, and weekends.

Wage starts at $18.75 per hour as a training wage, with duties ranging from patrols and incident reporting to emergency response and crowd control. A valid BC security licence and physical fitness are required.

Qualifications

• Valid security licence required.
• OFA I or higher is an asset.
• Physical fitness: ability to walk for prolonged hours on most sites.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Write clear and detailed incident, emergency and day-to-day reports.
• Monitor for security breaches, hazards and emergencies and contact responders as needed.
• Provide first aid and medical response when required.
• Perform regular foot patrols to ensure security of personnel, building and equipment.
• Use two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities.
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers.

Job description

We are currently accepting applications for full-time and part-time Security Guards to join our Various Sites. This position requires strong social perceptiveness and customer service skills. Sometimes, it may be physically demanding due to the size of the property and requires applicants to be able to work- Morning, days, nights and/or weekends.

Training Wage: $18.75

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency and day to day reports
• Watch for and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations and contact emergency responders as required
• Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
• Perform regular foot patrols to ensure personnel, building and equipment security
• Utilize two way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers

Core Competencies

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A strong working knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Strong observational skills
• Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision

Job Requirements

• Valid security licence
