Job summary

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is seeking a Security Guard to join our Security team for a temporary part-time assignment (approximately 3 months). The role involves maintaining a safe and welcoming hospital environment, responding to incidents, and supporting various areas across the facility.

The position emphasizes de-escalation, communication, and active engagement in patient and visitor safety. Hours are days, nights, and weekends with 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Law and Security program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Three (3) years' experience in a security role in a healthcare setting (preferred).
• Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or equivalent (preferred).
• Incident Management System (IMS) Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of patients, staff, volunteers, physicians, and visitors.
• Ensure protection of hospital possessions and property.
• Performs routine checks of systems and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
