Job summary

Securitas Canada in Medicine Hat area is hiring part-time security guards to monitor client sites, observe and report incidents, control access, and perform patrols by foot or vehicle. The role emphasizes protecting people and property, delivering reliable service, and following established procedures.

Candidates must hold a valid Alberta Security Guard License, have a Class 5 driver's license with access to a vehicle, and be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Alberta Security Guard License.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Available for daytime training on weekdays (minimum 40 hours).

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, its assets, and personnel.
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protective devices and fire control equipment.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client sites or facility through the admittance process.
• Patrols assigned sites on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized person.
• Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
• Use computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic training.
• Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

We are seeking PART TIME SECURITY GUARDS FOR MEDICINE HAT AREA.

• Must have a valid Alberta Security Guard License
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
• Must be available for daytime training on weekdays (minimum 40 hours)

Available Positions

• Position One - Saturdays and Sundays from 14:00 to 22:00, and Mondays and Tuesdays from 19:00 to 00:00.
• Position Two - Saturdays and Sundays from 22:00 to 06:00.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial Security Guard License
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Reliable means of transportation
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
• Must have excellent computer skills, including accurate data entry
• Able to walk, stand, and conduct patrols
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
• Must pass drug and alcohol test
• First Aid/ CPR is considered an asset
