Job summary

Securitas Canada Limited is seeking dedicated SOC Operators to support a Security Operations Centre in Calgary. The role involves monitoring security systems, managing access controls, and incident reporting in a fast-paced control room environment.

We offer full-time positions with competitive hourly pay. Shortlisted candidates will complete a computer skills assessment as part of the pre-employment process.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a valid provincial Security Guard License.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) is an asset.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures is essential.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to write routine logs and reports.
• Willingness to walk, stand, and conduct patrols.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• First Aid/ CPR certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report activities and incidents at client sites, ensuring security of property, assets, and personnel.
• Monitor CCTV and identify suspicious or irregular activity.
• Operate within a control room following established protocols.
• Perform regular patrols to check for irregularities and protect devices and fire systems.
• Enforce regulations and directives for the site as required.
• Control access to client sites through the admission process.
• Patrol assigned sites by foot or vehicle, identify hazards and unauthorized persons.
• Provide excellent customer service while minimizing risk to client assets.
• Monitor intrusion detection systems and respond to alarms.
• Use computer systems to monitor sites and complete basic training.
• Preserve evidence or scenes of incidents for investigations.

SECURITY GUARDS – FULL TIME POSITIONS

SUB‑JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dedicated and detail‑oriented SOC Operator to support our Security Operations Centre. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring security systems, managing access control platforms, responding to incidents, and preparing accurate incident reports. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and effective in a dynamic control room environment.

These are full‑time opportunities, and all shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a computer skills assessment as part of the pre‑employment evaluation process.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

• Position 1: Sat – Thu, 22:00 to 06:00 – $20.00/hour
• Position 2: Wed – Sun, 06:00 to 14:00 – $20.00/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, its assets, and personnel.
• Monitor CCTV system and identify suspicious or irregular activity
• Operate within a control room environment following established protocols
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client sites or facility through the admittance process.
• Patrols assigned sites on foot or in vehicles; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized people.
• Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
• Use computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic training.
• Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid provincial Security Guard License
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong computer skills, and experience in SOC (Security Operations Centre) setting is an asset.
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
• Able to walk, stand, and conduct patrols.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• First Aid/ CPR certification is considered an asset.
