Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a professional Security Guard – Mall in Etobicoke, Ontario. This role involves patrolling a premier retail shopping centre, maintaining a visible security presence, and responding to incidents to protect tenants, visitors, and staff.

You will monitor CCTV and alarms, enforce rules and safety procedures, and complete detailed documentation. A valid Ontario Security Guard Licence, Class G driver’s licence, and First Aid/CPR are required, with eligibility to work in

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years security experience.
• Ontario Security Guard Licence is required.
• Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with clean driving record.
• Must be 25 years of age or older for insurance eligibility.
• First Aid and CPR Certification required.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with security-related technology systems.
• Ability to work rotating days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular mobile and foot patrols of the mall and parking areas.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and disturbances.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Investigate and document incidents and security concerns.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $20.29 per hour
Schedule: Continental Rotation

• 2 Weeks Nights: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM

• 2 Weeks Days: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Overview:

This position is ideal for security professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile environment and are committed to delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for tenants, retailers, employees, and visitors. The successful candidate will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, respond to incidents, and support the overall security operations of a premier retail destination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular mobile and foot patrols throughout the shopping centre, parking facilities, and surrounding property.

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other undesirable activities.

• Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and calls for service.

• Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and security concerns in accordance with site procedures.

• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, access control systems, and other security technologies.

• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to shoppers, tenants, and visitors.

• Enforce property rules, regulations, and applicable legislation.

• Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and security vulnerabilities.

• Assist emergency services and act as a first responder during emergency situations.

• Complete detailed reports, logs, and electronic documentation accurately and professionally.

• Collaborate with property management, retailers, contractors, and fellow security personnel to maintain a secure environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 2–3 years of security experience, preferably within a shopping centre, retail, commercial, or customer-service-focused environment.

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.

• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.

• Must be 25 years of age or older for insurance eligibility requirements.

• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.

• Strong report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and security-related technology systems.

• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

• Professional appearance and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

• Ability to work rotating days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a high-end retail, luxury shopping centre, or commercial property environment.

• Previous mobile patrol experience.

• Knowledge of access control, CCTV systems, and emergency response procedures.
