Job summary

Securitas Canada Limited is seeking a Security Guard for a front desk access control role in Mississauga. The position offers a wage of 22.28 per hour with shift timings to be determined and duties performed on-site at Dixie Rd. and Derry Rd., near Pearson Airport.

The role requires alertness, customer service, and compliance with site security protocols. Responsibilities include monitoring front desk access, dispatching via radio, traffic control, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License.
• First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• G Class Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Experience in security at airport or manufacturing preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform patrols.

Responsibilities

• Perform access control provision duties at the front desk, verifying visitors and contractors on-site.
• Demonstrate confident interaction with the public, employees, contractors and visitors while upholding professional customer service; enforce site rules and Trespass to Property procedures.
• Dispatch duties via radio communications and manage radio calls.
• Issue parking tickets for infractions.
• Respond to parking operation complaints and emergencies.
• Investigate and issue penalty notices for vehicles parked illegally within client area and coordinate towing as needed.
• Direct and control traffic to ensure safety of employees and visitors.
• Prepare detailed briefs for evidence and court proceedings when required.
• Escort medical staff, paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
• Respond to medical, security and fire emergencies; be prepared to perform CPR/AED.
• Monitor CCTV footage and dispatch for site emergencies.
• Perform foot and mobile patrols inside and outside the facility.

Position Overview:

Wages: $22.28/hr

Shift timings: TBD

Location: Dixie Rd. and Derry Rd.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform access control provision duties at the front desk, verifying visitors and contractors coming on-site.

• Demonstrate the ability and willingness to interact confidently with members of the public, employees, contractors, and visitors while maintaining a professional and customer-service-oriented approach. Respond to unauthorized access, loitering, disruptive behavior, and other security concerns by enforcing site rules and Trespass to Property procedures, utilizing sound judgment, de-escalation techniques, and established security protocols.

• Dispatch duties via radio communication accepting all radio calls.
• Issue parking tickets for any infractions.
• Respond to parking operation complaints and emergency situations.
• Investigate and issue penalty notices to vehicles parked illegally within the client's area at Pearson Airport, including towing of vehicles interfering with traffic/ property access.
• Direct and control traffic ensuring safety of client employees and visitors.
• Provide support for special enforcement initiatives dealing with matters such as Accessible Parking, Fire Routes, etc.
• Prepare detailed briefs of evidence and complete necessary documentation/processes required for court proceedings when necessary.
• Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
• Respond to medical, security and fire related emergencies, and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
• Monitor CCTV footage and cameras for irregularities and perform dispatch duties for the site including emergency response.
• Perform foot and mobile patrols inside and outside the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Ontario Security License.
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain.
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
• Previous Security in Manufacturing facilities is desirable
• Previous Customer Service Experience
• Experience in dealing with Emergency Situations
• G Class Driver's License is required. G1 and G2 are not acceptable. Clean drivers abstract is required and will be requested.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of sustained standing and active patrol duties.
• Tech savvy with experience monitoring CCTV cameras and using 2-way radios.
• Previous experience with parking enforcement at the airport is a strong asset.
