Job summary

Paladin Security Group in Port Alberni, British Columbia, is hiring a Security Guard (Mobile Patrol & Static) on-site. Pay is CA$18.75–CA$22.00 per hour; schedule varies by assignment.

You’ll conduct patrols, assist clients and the public, report incidents, provide basic first aid, and log activities with mobile and computer tools, contributing to a safe local community. We offer benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Security License.
• Valid BC Driver's License (Class 5 or Class 7N for Mobile Patrol).
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.
• Physical ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to handle tense situations calmly using de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and build relationships with clients, tenants, and the public.
• Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure safety of people, property, and equipment.
• Identify and report safety hazards, security breaches, and emergencies; contact responders as needed.
• Write clear incident, daily activity, and emergency reports.
• Provide basic first aid and medical response when required.

Position Overview

Schedule: Varies by assignment (mornings, days, nights, and/or weekends)

Site Overview

This role supports a diverse portfolio of properties in Port Alberni, British Columbia. You will work across a mix of dynamic mobile patrol routes and static assignments, maintaining site safety, supporting client operations, and serving as a helpful, visible presence for the local community.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide customer service and build positive relationships with clients, tenants, and members of the public.

Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure the safety and security of people, property, and equipment.

Identify and report safety hazards, security breaches, and emergency situations, contacting emergency responders as needed.

Write clear, accurate incident, daily activity, and emergency reports.

Provide basic first aid and medical response when required.

Use mobile and computer applications to log activities and maintain communication with the team.

Must Haves

• Valid BC Security License.
• Valid BC Driver's License (Class 5 or Class 7N required for Mobile Patrol duties).
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Physical ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to handle tense situations calmly using de-escalation skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• 6 months of experience in security or customer service.
• Basic First Aid certification (OFA Level 1 or higher).
