Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Tactical Security Guard to protect customers, employees, tenants and visitors at Halifax Shopping Centre. You will conduct patrols, monitor security systems, and respond to incidents to maintain a safe environment.

The role requires calm under pressure, strong observation, and clear communication. Rotating morning/afternoon shifts, uniform provided, and GardaWorld Academy training support career growth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols in the mall and contracted buildings.
• Monitor CCTV and security systems for unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, shoplifting, trespassing, or calls for service.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and required documentation.
• Control sign-in/sign-out of keys, radios, visitors, and security equipment.
• Operate security patrol vehicle as required.
• Interact with the public and manage challenging situations professionally.

As aTactical Security Guard, physical ability and stamina are important, as you will be active throughout your shift. You will regularly conduct foot and vehicle patrols, monitor busy public areas, respond to incidents, and interact with customers, employees, visitors, and individuals who may be involved in security-related situations.

Your ability to remain calm under pressure, de-escalate challenging situations, and take appropriate action when required will be key to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities for Tactical Security Guard

As a Tactical Security Guard, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, employees, tenants, and visitors at Halifax Shopping Centre and contracted properties.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols throughout the mall and contracted buildings
• Monitor CCTV and security systems for unusual or suspicious activity
• Respond to security incidents, disturbances, shoplifting, trespassing, and other calls for service
• Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports and required documentation
• Control and maintain the sign-in/sign-out of keys, radios, visitors, and other security equipment
• Operate the security patrol vehicle as required
• Interact with members of the public and manage challenging situations professionally
• Maintain a visible security presence and assist customers, employees, tenants, and visitors when required
• Complete required Defensive Tactics training and maintain all necessary training standards
• Strong observation, judgment, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Comfortable working in a busy public environment
• Flexible availability for rotating morning and afternoon shifts
