Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Section Chief, Liaison Engineering in Dorval for leadership of a technical team in Aerospace Canada. The role focuses on supervising a salaried group, guiding performance, and driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure airworthiness and effective MRB processes.

The candidate will mentor staff, participate in hiring, manage budgets, and coordinate with various functions to resolve product-line issues across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years aerospace experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the MRB system.
  • Ability to balance deliverables with team commitments.
  • Strong communication skills and time management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a group of salaried employees; set priorities, plan, and follow up.
  • Manage performance (PMP) and guide development (PDP).
  • Participate in interview and selection for new hires and interns.
  • Provide technical and non-technical leadership, coaching, and training to the team.
  • Contribute to annual budget-related exercises.
  • Build plans linked to business initiatives and execute them.
  • Communicate across organizations through governance forums.
  • Collaborate with functions to resolve technical issues across shifts.
  • Maintain open communication and collaboration between functions.
  • Ensure adherence to airworthiness regulations and Bombardier Engineering System.
  • Support MRB principles in final solutions and path forward.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Supervise a group of salaried employees. Establish priorities, plan, and follow up accordingly.

  • Ensure your team has a strong understanding of MRB principles (Material Review Board).
  • Support technical discussions and make decisions regarding final solutions and the way forward.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 10 years of aerospace experience.
