Job summary

Bombardier in Canada seeks an experienced engineer to resolve MRB and design issues on aircraft components during manufacture. You will collaborate with Design, Stress, Materials, Aerodynamics and others to deliver timely solutions while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.

The role requires a degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 5–7 years of aerospace experience; strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• MRB experience for at least 5 years or design experience in Aerospace for 7 years.
• Excellent knowledge of aircraft structure and system installation requirements.
• Electrical & Systems experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Resolve engineering issues on aircraft components and during manufacturing of Bombardier Aerospace products.
• Find solutions to engineering problems with aircraft structure and systems and document accordingly.
• Repair and salvage dispositions with respect to engineering specs and design integrity.
• Collaborate with Design, Stress, Materials Technology, Aerodynamics, and others to problem solve.
• Support Production, Design Engineering, Procurement & Quality in coordinating resolutions and corrective actions.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Provide status updates on manufacturing changes and problems.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Resolve engineering-related issues on Aircraft components and for repairs required during the manufacture of the Bombardier Aerospace products.
• Find solutions to any engineering-related problems with the aircraft structure and/or systems that is reported and raise necessary documentation to overcome the problem quickly and efficiently.
• Repair and/or salvage dispositions with respect to Engineering specifications, concepts and integrity of design, as well as, sign for dispositions on behalf of the Engineering department.
• Work closely with all specialists within Engineering, such as Design, Stress, Materials Technology, Aerodynamics, Performance and others as required in order to problem solve and or address any problems reported.
• Support Production, Design Engineering, Procurement & Quality in coordinating resolutions to issues and providing Corrective Action involving Engineering.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Provide status, updates & keep current on information regarding manufacturing changes & problems.

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or related field
• You have a minimum of five (5) years MRB experience or seven (7) years design experience in Aerospace
• You have excellent knowledge of aircraft structure & system installation technical requirements
• You have Electrical & Systems experience (considered an asset)
• You are an energetic person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high sense of commitment, and a willingness to accept responsibilities while acting independently in a high-pressure partner/supplier team environment.

The base salary for this position is expected to range from CAD $77,000 to CAD $127,000 per year. The applicable base salary will be determined based on various criteria, at Bombardier’s sole discretion, such as the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications.

In some cases, the base salary offered may differ from the expected range of base salary listed above.
