This 10-month, full-time position at Dryden High School offers a 35-hour work week, a start date of immediately, and duties including data entry, office tasks, and coordination under the Principal or designate, with priority given to strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Google Workspace experience is preferred; willingness to learn database/ accounting software.

Position: Secondary Administrative Assistant (10 Month Yearly Position)

Hours of Work: Full-Time (1.0 fte) at 35 hours per week

Location: Dryden High School

Rate of Pay: $26.43-$30.34 / hour

Union Affiliation: OSSTF-OCL

Start Date: Immediately

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Principal or designate, through the Head Administrative Assistant, ensures the efficient operation of the school office as well as specific functions required by the school or board offices. Involvement with students, staff, parents and stakeholders occurs on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma required. A valid Driver’s license and the willingness and ability to travel for school board related business required. College diploma in a business/office administration discipline and previous experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in a Microsoft Windows environment and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite required. Experience with Google Workspace is preferred. Willingness and ability to acquire skills in data base, accounting, banking and other related software applications is essential and the ability to utilize transferable skills related to technology. The following attributes are necessary: excellent office skills; ability to deal with tact and sound judgement in oral and written communications with students, staff and stakeholders; the ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimum supervision; the ability to problem solve and the ability to work independently in a team environment. Previous experience in an education environment will be considered an asset. This position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) at the employee’s expense.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is conducted in a typical office environment in a school setting. Some increased attention to detail may be required for data input and certain tasks.
