Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) seeks a Full-Time Long Term Occasional teacher for the Dryden High School campus in Northwestern Ontario. The role supports I/S and Geography/History with strong focus on Ontario Curriculum delivery and student engagement.

Effective immediately until the incumbent returns, but not beyond June 25, 2027. Position remains open until filled; KPDSB emphasizes equity, accessibility, and inclusive practices in recruitment and teaching.

Qualifications

  • OCT Certificate required.
  • Geography/History qualifications or experience preferred.
  • Understanding of current educational philosophies and Ontario Curriculum.
  • Familiarity with First Nations, Inuit and Metis cultures in Northwestern Ontario.
  • Experience as a staff developer, lead learner and facilitator.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check or CRJMC required at hire and every five years.

Position: Full--Time Long Term Occasional Teaching Position - I/S and Geography/History qualifications preferred

Location: Dryden High School

Union Affiliation: OSSTF-Occasional Teachers

Effective immediately until return of incumbent, but not beyond June 25, 2027.

Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario.

KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala.

Qualifications
  • OCT Certificate required. Intermediate/Senior and Geography/History qualifications or experience preferred.
  • An understanding of current educational philosophies, teaching and learning strategies involved in the Ontario Curriculum, Continuing Education, the Adult Education Credit Strategy, Achieving Excellence, the Renewed Math Strategy
  • Will be familiar with First Nations, Inuit and Metis Cultures within our region and experience working with First Nation, Metis and Inuit students, their families and communities within Northwestern Ontario.
  • Experience as a staff developer, lead learner and facilitator
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with and/or experience in working cooperatively with staff, administration and educational partners
  • This position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) at the employee’s expense upon hire, and every five years subsequently.
