  • Demonstrated patience, reliability, sound judgement, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a school team.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) may be required at employee’s expense.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during lunch indoors and outdoors to ensure safety and wellbeing.
  • Promote positive behaviour and adherence to school expectations and the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Respond to minor incidents and assist in maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
  • Address routine conflicts or concerns as per school procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Principal or designate, the Lunch Hour Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and well‑being of students during the lunch break, both indoors and outdoors. Duties include supervising students in designated areas, promoting positive behaviour, supporting compliance with school expectations and the Student Code of Conduct, responding to minor incidents, and assisting in maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive school environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ontario High School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent preferred. Experience working or volunteering with school‑aged children is considered an asset. Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with students, staff, and families. Demonstrated patience, reliability, sound judgement, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a school team. Ability to supervise students outdoors in various weather conditions. Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset. This position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) at the employee's expense.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent standing, walking, and active supervision of students throughout the lunch period
  • Regular interaction with students in a school environment
  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions during outdoor supervision duties
  • May be required to address minor student conflicts, behavioural concerns, and incidents in accordance with school procedures
